Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know about downloading YouTube videos and Instagram content with VidDrag.

Is VidDrag free to use?

Yes, VidDrag is completely free. No subscription, no account, no hidden fees. We're supported by non-intrusive advertising.

Is it legal to download YouTube videos?

Downloading for personal offline viewing may fall under fair use in some jurisdictions. However, redistributing, re-uploading, or monetizing downloaded content without the creator's explicit permission violates copyright law and YouTube's Terms of Service. Always respect content creators.

What video quality options does VidDrag support?

VidDrag supports 4K (2160p), Full HD (1080p), HD (720p), SD (480p and 360p), and audio-only MP3 — depending on what the original video was uploaded in.

Can I download private or age-restricted YouTube videos?

No. VidDrag can only process publicly available videos. Private videos, unlisted videos requiring login, and age-restricted content cannot be downloaded.

How do I download an Instagram Reel?

Open the Reel on Instagram → tap the three-dot (···) menu → Copy Link → paste that link into VidDrag → click Download. Done in under 10 seconds.

Why is my download taking a long time?

Download speed depends on the video length, the quality you selected, your internet connection, and current server load. 4K videos naturally take longer than 360p. Try a lower quality if speed is a priority.

Does VidDrag work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. VidDrag is fully browser-based and works on all modern browsers including Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android. No app install required.

How do I save a downloaded video on iPhone?

After tapping Download in Safari, the video opens in a new tab. Tap and hold the video → Save Video to save it to your Photos app. Alternatively, use the Files app or Documents by Readdle browser for easier management.

Can I download Short Videos?

Yes. Short Videos URLs (youtube.com/shorts/...) are fully supported. Paste the Shorts URL exactly as it appears in your browser.

Does VidDrag store my downloaded videos?

No. VidDrag never stores your video files on our servers. The download link goes directly from the source platform to your device. We only log anonymized, hashed metrics (platform used, success/fail) for improving the service.

The video download link expired — what do I do?

Download links from third-party APIs are time-limited (usually 6–24 hours). If your link has expired, simply paste the URL again and generate fresh download links.

What should I do if a video fails to download?

First check that the video is public and not age-restricted. Then try refreshing and pasting the URL again. If it still fails, the video's platform may have temporarily blocked external access — try again in a few minutes.
